Katherine is a partner in, and head of, the Wills, Probate and Estate Planning team based in Epsom. She specialises in wills, trusts, powers of attorney, estate administration and Court of Protection matters. She is used to dealing with matters from the straightforward to the complex and has a friendly and practical approach.

Katherine qualified into this area as a solicitor in 1999 and her experience has been further strengthened by becoming a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP). Katherine is also an Accredited Lifetime Lawyer, meaning that she is one of the most qualified lawyers in the country to support older and vulnerable clients.

Clients have referred to Katherine as “efficient but managing the process with patience and sensitivity”, as “knowing the ins and outs in a thoroughly competent and timely manner”, “easy to deal with clarity and limited technical jargon used, and “prompt and diligent”.

Katherine studied law at UWE Bristol, graduating in 1996. She took the Legal Practice Course at Bournemouth University (Nottingham Law School programme).

Katherine trained at a law firm on Richmond Green and continued her career at firms in Islington, Mayfair and Wimbledon. Katherine is a partner at Peacock & Co.

Katherine is comfortable in advising on matters ranging from multimillion pound estates to something more modest – it is more about giving the right advice to that client and ensuring they have their estate planning documents in place.

However, some of Katherine’s career highlights include:

  • Preparing Wills for those clients with vulnerable or disabled beneficiaries
  • Administering estates and obtaining Grants of Probate with a foreign element
  • Putting in place Statutory Wills at the Court of Protection (a Will for someone who no longer has the mental capacity to put one in place themselves)
  • Re-sealing foreign Grants of Probate in the UK to release UK assets
  • Advising on lifetime Inheritance Tax planning

Katherine lives in Wimbledon with her husband and three children. She enjoys long distance walking and has recently completed a 56km ultra challenge over the South Downs.
