Robert is a senior solicitor in the the Commercial team. He qualified in 2014 and specialises mainly in commercial property.

Robert has particular expertise in development, including option agreements, overage deeds, site acquisitions/sales, site set up and unit sales (including off-plan), as well as development finance. He also has experience with complicated and unusual land transactions, including auction purchases and sales, agricultural and strategic land, unregistered land, and property with title or other legal issues.

In addition to his property practice, Robert also has experience acting on a range of property based disputes and corporate matters.

Robert studied Modern History with Economics at the University of Manchester. He took the Graduate Diploma in Law and then the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law, Guildford.

Robert  trained with a West End firm and qualified as a solicitor in 2014. Before joining Peacock & Co, Robert practiced in the City and West End, and has also spent time working in-house for a mortgage brokerage and property investment companies.

  • Acting on the purchase of over 100 acres of agricultural land near Dartford for £3.2m.
  • Acting on the acquisition of agricultural land near Guildford, Surrey for £1m, and subsequently acting on the sale of parts of the land with the benefit of overage retained for the client.
  • Acting as part of a small team on a £32m refinance of a client’s commercial property portfolio.
  • Successfully recovering in full a deposit and 100% of a client’s legal costs from a failed property purchase in a complicated claim. The claim involved a failed exchange of contracts, a successful strike out of the Defendant’s counterclaim and multiple hearings before trial.
  • Acting on the acquisition of a company that was over 100 years old that owned an unregistered property in Croydon. The transaction involved a leaseback from the company to a sports club.

Outside of work, Robert is a classic car enthusiast and enjoys cycling.
