Hiking the Yorkshire Three Peaks

This month members of our team will hike 24 miles in support of our charity for 2026, Dons Local Action Group.

In June members of our team will be hiking the Yorkshire Three Peaks for Dons Local Action Group, our supported charity for 2026. The 24-mile circular hike takes in Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m) with the aim of meeting a completion time of 12 hours – or under!

35 years ago, Peacock & Co Solicitors was founded in Wimbledon Village and we are keen in our anniversary year to learn more our community, and it’s needs. Formed in response to supporting those in need during the pandemic, the Dons Local Action Group has grown exponentially from a grass-roots organisation to deliver real change in our community. Since 2020, food for over seven million meals has been delivered by DLAG in our local boroughs of Merton, Wandsworth and Kingston. Alongside the widely recognisable food distribution programme (including fresh vegetables, fruit and eggs and incorporating dietary needs and restrictions), their community action is far greater: providing laptops, school uniform, furniture and immediate support for those in times of hardship and crisis.

So who is Don? For those further afield or less aware of the storied history of our beloved local football team, AFC Wimbledon, the Dons Local Action Group takes its name from the initial core volunteering organised by AFC fans.

It is the huge support from 400 local volunteers that makes this organisation so special. In 2026 so far, more than 6500 hours have been volunteered and 12,263 food boxes delivered. We too have been volunteering, with monthly days assisting at the Local Action Hub, on collections and making deliveries. As a team we are finding it a really valuable out-of-office experience and community connection – thanks to the brilliant team at DLAG.

As well as bake-offs and charity collections, our key fundraising event is to take the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in June. Our training walks have taken in vineyards, flea markets, a wedding, tough chalky inclines and sweeping coastal views. Now we are looking forward to the main event (with both excitement and some trepidation)!

If you are able to support our cause it will bolster our efforts no end (but may not save our blisters!) Please lend your support here.
